Hello, I have a FW8G-STT and it specifies using 36mm filters. Just to confirm, unmounted filters can be placed in the filter wheel and be secure without any kind of mount or threading? Thanks, Wes
Hi Wes, Unmounted filters are bare glass and do not have a metal surrounding enclosure that threads in. Unlike eyepiece filters. If you have an FW8G-STT you can find the manual here: https://diffractionlimited.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/stt_filterwheel_manual_080812.pdf You'll see that the filter wheel carousel has a retaining cover and o-rings that are used to retain the unmounted filters.
