Just received my STF-8300M and FW-8 a few days ago. Got my first light, last night. I decided to put an old Pentax 135mm lens on and do a wide-field of Gamma Cygni. I used Astrodon 3nm Ha and OIII filters for this on a CGEM unguided. Capture time was limited to 300 sec. I did have some star trailing, but was able to get it out with the motion blur portion of PixInsight deconvolution. I have only been doing this for less than 4 years, and still trying to learn it. I started with an Orion DSMI III and their filters. BTW, I used the SBIG Canon lens adapter along with the Pentax M42 adapter for mounting the lens.
Comments welcome. I still feel like a Nug (New Useless Guy).
