Hello, I am planning to set up an STF-8300M with FW5-8300 as a dedicated all sky camera. I have no idea about mounting a lens to this camera. The spec sheet says that supplied Mounting is T-Thread, 2" nosepiece. I presume that I will take off this nosepiece and replace it with an adapter (page 26 in the camera's manual). The adapter choice seems to depend on the lens selected. I would like to end up with a fisheye circular image with about 180 degrees of coverage. Are lenses advertised as 1" appropriate for this particular camera? What focal length do I need? Specific recommendations for adapter/lens would be very helpful.

We do make Canon and Nikon lens adapters. The sensor is APS format so anything spec'd for that lens type should work as expected.

For T-mount lenses perhaps another customer can make suggestions.

Thanks Doug. I pulled up the spec sheet on the KAF-8300 sensor and there it says the focal plane is 17.96mm (H) x 13.52mm (V) 22.5 mm (diagonal). Wikipedia says that "Four Thirds System" uses a size of 17.3mm x 13mm and a crop factor of 2. On a full-frame sensor, I would need a 8mm lens to produce a full-circle fisheye. Does that mean I need a 4mm for full circle on the STF-8300M? Similarly, a 15mm lens on a full frame sensor would produce a so-called diagonal fisheye image, would I need about an 8mm lens for a diagonal fisheye on the STF-8300M? If so, I think I know what to get!

That sounds logical... but you'll have to try it.
