Odd post.... It seems when running the CCD below -10C the luminance image shows a light haze in the center FoV covering about 50%. Warming the CCD up to 10C then switch to R or B or G filter and dropping the CCD temp to -20C the image looks fine w/o any haze. A more interesting test point would have been to switch filters w/o warming the camera, but it was late and I was tired to think of this. Ambient was 8C and humidity 25%. The problem appears to be the Luminance filter will haze up but the R-G-B does not. Is this even possible? The L filter looks fine, clean / clear / haze free. Will recharge the desiccant and clean the L-filter. Any other suggestions? CCD= STL-11000m Class 3 _..-- TiM
Maybe the "haze" is more visible just because you have brighter stars in the image??? I'd recharge the desiccant first, and see if that helps. If not then perhaps your filters need cleaning...
