    Hi all

I've buy a bundle AC4040, FWX, SCE, AOX
I have a trouble with filter wheel.

    Switch on the camera.
Connect the camera via Maxim DL
Select a filter 0, 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5 without problem. At the end of movement there is a little vibration, I think the automatic adjustment.
When I select the filter 6 or 7 the wheel reach the position, with a little vibration, but after a little bit restart the rotation. Reach the position, little vibration and newly rotate, never ending.
Disconnecting camera from maxim not solve the issue.
I can stop this issue only removing power to the camera.

    Suggestions ?

    Many thanks
    G.g.

We are currently working on a possible firmware problem related to AC series control of FW7-STX. This will take a few days so please be patient.

I have the same 4040 camera, filter wheel, SC3 and AOX setup with the same problem. I wanted to add some more detail to the problem description. Upon power-up, the filter wheel can find the start position, mine is luminance. If you advance one filter, or two filters, all goes well, the wheel rotates to just past the needed position and steps back a few bumps and stops. All is well as long as you don't ask for more than a move of 2 filters. If you go 3 or more, the wheel advances to the desired location, bumps, and then continues on, like forever. If you can reselect Luminance, it sometimes will re-acquire the luminance position and you can proceed, as long as you ask for not more that two spaces. Sometimes it will not re-acquire, and a power reset is required. Small steps will work fine for now. The spacing of the wheel location sensor appears to not be a part of the problem. Please advise when a fix for this is available. Patiently waiting. Thanks

I am having the same problem. I am trying to run focus offsets in ACP...it take images with the L filter as a base then through the RGB filters. The filter wheel does not got from L to R...it spins...and spins...and spins so it can't run the script. I keep getting "waiting for filter wheel" in Maxim. I had an issue on power up where it just spun...board was replaced a few months ago. It "seems" to find the right filter after spinning around several times taking over a minute in some cases.

How will we know if/when the fix is available?

We're working through the best way to resolve this, as we're pretty sure we now have a handle on the root cause.
We may want you to try a "beta" driver and possible firmware revision. However, we're not quite ready yet.

Hi @Gianluigi Corradin and @mike shade
We released an update on Friday May 19 to the DL API Drivers.
You can read about it and download here:
    https://forum.diffractionlimited.com/threads/dlapi-2-7-1-0-released.9722/

    Please install the DLAPI update.
    Power cycle everything.
Test that MaxIm talks to the camera.
If successful, then test to see if the problem is cured.

If the problem is not cured, then I want you to downgrade the AC4040 camera firmware to version 5.
Yes, that is an old version. It is here:
    https://diffractionlimited.com/aluma-fpga-firmware/
After you update the firmware, quit the DL Config Utility. Power off the camera, then do the test in MaxIm.
If the filter wheel starts behaving correctly, then we know your problem is with the firmware update.

Downgrading the firmware is a temporary measure. We need to know if either DLAPI 2.7.1.0 or downgrade fix your problem. Then we can do next steps.

If you need help doing the install/downgrade/tests etc., let me know, and we can schedule a time for one of us to do it remotely.

I think everything updated. Downloaded both updates, did NOT monkey with the firmware. I can talk to the camera and the filter wheel spins. It says DL API 2.7.1.0 and DL Imaging 6.28. I assume that this is correct. If not, how do I fix it?

    Thanks

I think the filter wheel is behaving properly, it is not staying out late and is in rehab...

I ran a simple plan via ACP-RGB frames of M13 (still shooting easy eye candy with this system). It shot all of the frames correctly. When different filters are selected in Maxim manually, not part of an ACP plan, say L to G, it "seems" like it doesn't spin forever. The computer is in the control room, obviously the camera is in the observatory so it is challenging to hear that perfectly.

    Hi all.

    I tested the Filter weel:
with the DL API update I not solved the issue.
After downgrading to Firmware version 5 the Filter weel works fine. Works with theSkyX too.

I have other issue with the downgrade. In the configuration utility I cannot see the filterweel peripherial (new peripherial section on GUI, only AOX not FW7).

    I wait news

    Many thanks

    bye
