I did my first power up and com-link last night with my new STXL16200 and FW8G-STXL. All seems well with no issues getting a com-link, setting up the filter wheel, and taking a few test images, but I need clarification on the tracking CCD setup. Is the tracking CCD in the filter wheel considered to be an internal or external CCD ? I assumed that it is internal, but it would be a good idea to clarify this point in the instruction manual.
It is considered external. We no longer manufacture cameras with internal sensors. Those are the ones that are tucked right into the chamber alongside the main CCD. That setup option is for older models only. That said, the electronics for operating the external CCD sensors are built into the cameras.
