Hi all, I just purchased a STF-8300c with STiC and OAG kit. I have a few questions. 1) Is the guise star supposed to be oblong? 2) What would the exposure time be to get a good guide star? 3) the guide star is not in the same position on the STF-8300 as it is on the STi. How do you fix this? I plan on using both scopes to image. My equipment is: Meade 12" LX200/GPS @ F6.3, Orion SkyView pro 80mm ED EQ @ F7.5 Piggybacked on the LX200, Mitty Wedge Thanks for the help. Jeff
Hi Jeff, The guider CCD is going to be placed outside the field of view of the main CCD. You take a picture of a known field of stars and map your offset. Then you know where your guider is compared to your main imaging field. Yes the stars will look oblong. You can call or Skype me for personal help. Regards Tim
Thanks Tim, That helps. I wish there was a spread sheet or something that would give suggested exposure times for different types of objects. Jeff
