Hi, we're trying to make an ST-8XME work, and for that purpose wanted to download both the SBIG Driver Checker and afterwards CCDops. Unfortunately, the links from the "Legacy page" http://diffractionlimited.com/support/sbig-archives/ for "SBIG Driver Checker (Windows)" and "CCDOPS (Windows)" which go to ftp.sbig.com do not appear to be working. When I try to go to the ftp site directly, I can login anonymously to ftp.sbig.com, but even a simple directory listing request (via "ls") gives me a server-side time-out. The links on the forum FAQ here, "How to install SBIG driver," give a 404 page not found error. We'd appreciate any help you can give us so we can find the legacy software we need to run our ST-8XME! I just checked and the links at http://diffractionlimited.com/support/sbig-archives/ worked fine for me. I noticed the links you posted were not complete, as they were missing the ":" after the first "ftp". ftp://ftp.sbig.com/pub/SetupDriverChecker64.exe ftp://ftp.sbig.com/pub/InstOps.exe
Hi Doug, thanks for your quick reply. It turned out to be a problem with the network configuration on my end (which didn't let FTP through) – but because of the 404 page errors for the pages listed in the FAQ, I hastily assumed it was a problem with the links itself. In any case, we downloaded the drivers, and the camera is working now – thanks!
