120" exposure aluma AC4040. You can see a nice wedged shaped center portion of the image where there are stars, but there are two wedges on the side where there are none. Every image, every filter. There is also a dark bar in the center of the image. Dark frames also show this dark center bar, but not the wedged shape at the sides. Uncorrected image. Misaligned filter wheel would not be both sides like this. Screwed up shutter I'm guessing? Another night lost because of issues with this thing.
I took the camera off the telescope...took image while able to look at chip. The shutter is two pieces, one of them does not open at all, the other half opens at a weird angle. After power off then up, try and take an exposure. Shutter not quite closed. When exposure starts, 1/2 of the shutter does not open at all.
Sorry to hear this.Usually this take just a few minutes to fix. My colleague @Tim will be able to assist.
I have contacted Tim. It looks like this is can be an issue with this camera, especially the early ones. And as you may recall this is one of the earliest. There is a post I have seen where Doug showed a image of a fix. Involves removing the front cover and there is a screw that can be adjusted. I may try that. We'll see what Tim offers.
