CCDOps is reporting that my STL6303 is ABG, it is not. Is this anything to be concerned about?

    STL-6303 Info.PNG

A new issue has come up since updating to the newest drivers - Both the internal and external (RGH) guide ccd return completely saturated frames whenever thermal cooling is turned on. Turn off cooling and the frames look as expected. This is completely repeatable, independent of the fan being enabled. Main CDD is performing normally.

System was serviced within the last 18 months, with new electronics.

The ABG thing is not important. That is determined solely by the choice of sensor, and there are no ABG 6303 sensors.

Bill will have to weigh in on your camera’s symptoms.

Thanks, that is what I assumed, just double checking.

    Jeff,

No cause for concern regarding ABG being reported, it doesn't affect the camera in any way. The tracking ccd's saturating with cooling on is definitely strange. I don't have a "aha, here's what that is" in my memory bank. Can you check if the internal tracking ccd operates normally with cooling on and the RGH disconnected?
My records show that the camera was here back in May, 2017 and had the digital board replaced.

I am having the onsite support disconnect the RGH to see that resolves the issue. I was the last component touched, recently rotated in place for alignment.
I will follow up once I know more.

Attached are two FITS files, both Dark frames one with Thermal Cooling on put at a power level of 0%, the other with a power level >0%
Seems the issue isn't when thermal cooling is enabled, but rather if the power for cooling is >0%

Do you know if having the RGH disconnected makes a difference?

I will have those results later today, on site support is setting things up. I wanted to get some baseline data before disconnecting the RGH

Same results with the RGH disconnected.

It sounds like it needs to come in. Send me an email, bill@sbig.com, and I'll give you the details for doing so.
