Finally got around to finishing this image of M64, I imaged this on clear nights between 3-15-24 and 6-26-24. I bought an 8" Edge SCT OTA a while back and I've been enjoying using it, I think it is a great value for a longer focal length imaging OTA. This is the first completed image from the scope for me. I don't think I have the collimation quite perfect, every time I've been at the observatory the seeing has been pretty bad so I haven't tried to tweak it. This was at F10.

    Processed in MaximDL and Photoshop.

    Total exposure time,
    17 Lum 900 Sec Bin 2x2, total 255 Minutes
    15 Red 600 Sec Bin 3x3 total 150 Minutes
    17 Green 600 Sec Bin 3x3 total 180 Minutes
    19 Blue 600 Sec Bin 3x3 total 190 Minutes

Camera is an SBIG STT-8300, guided with an AO-8 on a MI-250 mount with SiTech control.

    Full resolution,
