All users with an active subscription, i.e. license expiry date on or after June 28, 2024, can download and run MaxIm DL Version 7.0.0 at no extra cost!

We are updating our license renewal pricing for Version 7 effective July 10, 2024. Expired licenses will cost more to renew. If you have an expired Version 6 license, we strongly recommend you upgrade immediately.

To get Version 7, simply open MaxIm DL and select Help menu Check For Updates.

    Release Notes

Version 7 is a major release of MaxIm DL. Key new features include:
    • Now operates as a 64-bit application, providing greatly expanded memory capability and improved performance.
    • New user interface with ribbon bar controls, greatly improving ease-of-use.
    • User interface operates in Dark mode, providing a modernized look with better user experience in low-light conditions.
    • Continuously visible zoom / undo / redo toolbar at top right.
    • Improved and simplified image processing preview functions.
    • Redesigned and updated dialog boxes across the board.
There are a number of minor feature upgrades, such as:
    • New implementation of ASCOM switch with more control / status indicator capabilities.
    • New implementation of the narrowband blending tool.
    • Many minor user interface enhancements, such as adding a Continuous (focus) mode on the Guide tab.
Please note that, with the release of Version 7, all hardware drivers are required to be 64-bit. In many cases 32-bit hardware can still be accessed via an external ASCOM Hub.

There are a couple of known issues with the first release:
    • GSENSE Calibration has some minor issues.
    • Maximum entropy deconvolution is currently not functional.
