    Dear Sirs,

We know that Diffraction Limited recommends the use of ASCOM for third-party plug-in drivers, but still we find the the overhead, and end user added complexity, introduced with the use of ASCOM is a step back in supporting third-party imaging systems.

We need to develop a plug-in for a specific/new imaging system, we do have the Maxim Plug-in Kit from back 2004, but we would like to ask if there is a more recent Plug-in Kit for Maxim DL.

    Best regards,
    Paulo de Almeida

We have two versions of the plug-in interface. The standard interface doesn't change - it's kept fixed so you can write drivers that won't be broken by an update.

There is also an "advanced" plug-in interface, which is available under non-disclosure agreement only. It provides extra capabilities but is subject to change, and we can't guarantee that an update won't break your driver. (We do try to avoid doing that, but don't guarantee it.)

Please start out with the standard interface, and contact us if you find it limiting for some reason.
