Help, please. My setup is an SBIG STF-8300 Monochrome CCD Camera, SBIG FW8-8300 - 8-Position 36mm Filter Wheel, SBIG Off-Axis Guider and an Explore Scientific 127mm f/7.5 ED APO Refractor. I have been using this equipment to image deep space objects successfully for several years. My question: is there any way I could use this equipment to take images of the moon? I don't want to try it without advice as I am concerned that the very bright moon would damage the sensor in the camera. I would appreciate any help.

    Many thanks, Terry.

There is no chance that the moon will damage your sensor.

Try using the densest filter in your wheel - a narrowband filter will work well - and take a short exposure.
