I'm trying to identify which chip is in my ST-4000XCM , I know the first run of them shipped with the KAI 4020 chip and later they shipped with the KAI 4022 chip. any help would be greatly appreciated TIA and CLEAR SKIES
Hi Doug the serial number is 40805219 I had sent it in and had the chip replaced under warranty due to excessive column defects if I remember correctly Thanks Joe
Unfortunately the only database record for that serial number doesn't list the sensor model. It does say it was built on 2009-05-28.
Hi Doug and thanks for the info , the packing list included with camera is dated 5-18-2008 , since the camera was sent in for repair I wonder if they changed to MFG date to the repair Date in case it needed warranty work again ?
We acquired this database from the old company, and I know it's not 100% complete. They must have occasionally lost records for whatever reason. Records are never overwritten; if the camera comes in for repairs it just appends the data. I'm guessing the original manufacturing test data was lost, and when it came in for warranty work the software assumed it was newly-built because it couldn't find the previous record.
Thanks Dong , that makes sense because the timeline does follow. can you make a guess with the data you have when the last production date (approx) included the 4020 chip ? and possibly when the 4022 started to be installed in the camera ?
Data doesn't seem to be fully consistent... my best guess is the switch happened in June 2008. That's the extent of the digging I am willing to do.
