Currently the Nikon D5300 is not supported in MaxIm DL.

    Nikon support is as follows:

    D2X
    D40
    D50
    D70/D70s
    MaxIm DL V4.57
    D80
    D200
    MaxIm DL V5.02
    D300
    MaxIm DL V5.09
    D300S
    D3
    D3X
    D700
    D90
    D5000
    MaxIm DL V5.16
    D3S
    D7000
    D5100
    MaxIm DL V5.22
    D4
    D800/D800E
    MaxIm DL V5.24
    D5200
    D600
    D7100
Support is also provided for the D4, D600, and D5200 at the "beta test" level, and for the D2X and D80 on an "as-is" basis. Some individual cameras apparently have firmware that is not compatible with Nikon's camera control API. Therefore we cannot guarantee that your camera can be controlled, although RAW files from the camera can be read.

Support cannot be provided for the D3100 nor D3200.

It's been some time. I would like to buy Maxim Dl and do not know whether it will support the Nikon D5300 now or in the near future

Support for the Nikon D5300 is in the latest beta version which is only available to customers who have purchased MaxIm DL. You can wait until 6.09 is released and you can test the camera using the demo version. Or you can purchase the software and try the latest beta version.
