Plans to Introduce a SBIG Camera With a SONY IMX 455 ?

    I have read and heard a lot about the full-frame, 3.76 micron SONY IMX 455 CMOS sensor. Does Diffraction Ltd have any plans to introduce any cameras with this sensor in the future?

    Yes, we have one in development.

    Doug, when you get to that point, would we be able to switch sensors into an existing AC4040 if desired? Just curious.

    No, electronics are completely incompatible. You would be able to re-use the filter wheel, off-axis guider, and ao-x though, as they would be mechanically compatible.

    Thanks, I thought that might be the case. I like the AC4040 as is anyway.
