I have noticed that the power plug on my STC7 is on the loose side. When I was bench test the camera, I noticed it was sitting on the fan face. I rolled the camera over and it unplugged itself. I need to see if there is a way to find a cord position to tape the cord down after I get it plugged in.
The power jack should snap in and lock. Make sure you've firmly inserted it. I mean don't force it! But it might take a little more pressure, especially the first few times.
Will try. I'm Leary of using pressure, in the past I seam to over do everything. I'll try to feel a snap.
A trick I use: The hood of the power plug is spring-loaded and pulls back. Pull back on the plastic hood of the power plug, then push in the plug from behind eg at the strain relief, and let go of the hood. Sometimes it takes 3 fingers or two hands to do ths.
One can use the DC "extension" cable that comes with the kit to get the feel for the connector and not risk damage to the camera connector. The 1/4"-20tpi bolt hole on the side of the camera can be used to loop/secure the cables to keep it strain off the connections. _..-- TiM
