My QHY600 does not open. I use the ASCOM driver. The camera opens when I select the CCD capture, I click OK, but when I try to connect it fails.

Hi Peter, from the log, MaxIm is successfully connecting to Camera 1, the main camera.
It is failing to connect to Camera 2, the guide camera.
So, if the QHY600 is your main imaging camera (Camera 1) that is working.
What's the guider camera you have?

One other tip: Some users report certain ASCOM cameras are not thread-safe, so turn this ofF:

I also have a ZWO290, but that is not the camera I need to do the pointing model, it is the QHY600; everything seemed to work up to the point a capturing an image; then an error message is generated.

MaxIm is indicating a problem with the second camera - and that is the cause of the error.

Verify you have the first and second camera set up properly.

    First Camera (QHY600):

    Camera Control Window, Setup tab.
Camera 1 [Setup] Camera Model = ASCOM.
    [Advanced...]
    ASCOM Camera Chooser
    Select QHYCCD-CamerasCapture
    [Properties]
    Now select the QHYCCD 600.
    OK a bunch of times.

    Second Camera (ZWO290):

    Camera Control Window, Setup tab.
Camera 2 [Setup] Camera Model = ASCOM.
    [Advanced...]
    ASCOM Camera Chooser
    Select ASI Camera (1)
    [Properties]
    Now select the ZWO 290.
    OK a bunch of times.

    Now it should connect.

    Alternative:
You could also set Camera 2 [Setup] Camera Model = No Camera.
That would disable the guide camera.

I think I did those things. The QHY settings window for the QHY600 opened up. Maybe we can do a Teamviewer tomorrrow if I can't get it to work....no time now.

Maybe 11AM PST tomorrow? I will try it without threading.

Problem was Camera 2 was set to a non-existent camera, so MaxIm failed to open that.
Camera 1, the QHYCCD 600 worked fine.
