My computer can no longer connect to my ST 402 and ST 2000 after I upgraded it to El Capitan (10.11.1). Is there any solution to that?

The internet is full of chatter about USB devices not working properly with El Capitan.
I've held off upgrading my MacBook Pro. You might want to "downgrade" back to Yosemite, or wait to see if Apple fixes the OS.

I think this is most probably related to the driver signing issue than usb itself (I for one have not had any issue with any of my usb devices).
You might want to look at this thread :

    http://www.diffractionlimited.com/f...sx-10-10-1-breaks-sbig-universal-drivers.368/

You can also find information online on how to disable Apple' SPI like this one :
    http://osxdaily.com/2015/10/05/disable-rootless-system-integrity-protection-mac-os-x/

With the boot args set to allow unsigned drivers and SPI disabled you should regain access to your camera.

Thank you very much for the comments. Disabled the SPI and connected the cameras with no problems (yet) now. Will try it in the field later.
