    Hi,

Suddenly this evening I'm receiving blank images back from the main imaging chip of my ST8-XME. The guide chip is returning normal images showing random noise as expected. The temperature control and shutter function normally.

The images returned by the main chip are blank with uniform 100ADU value after dark subtraction (0 ADU before dark subtraction).

    I've:
    - Tried an alternative SBIG power supply (just happen to have a new one spare)
    - Tried removing the extension power cord, going straight from supply to camera
    - Checked the USB cable is properly powered and working.
    - Tried different USB ports
    - Tried different cooling setpoints (including no cooling)
    - Tried a short USB cable direct to the PC

My thinking is that this is a camera or power issue, not a USB issue because communication to the camera in general seems to be steady. However, today I did test USB cables for another issue I've been having with TheSkyX hanging. I made no changes to the USB configuration but did check voltage on hub supplies etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Roger.

Sounds like a camera failure Roger. Email me at bill@sbig.com and I'll give you the details on sending it in.
