I have a used above mentioned system with HA, L,R, G, B filters mounted but I get the sound of filters moving ever so slightly. I took these out to clean and saw no type of any spacer being used. Are there supposed to be spacers on these 50mm square filters and if so where can I get these please?
Another thought. Looking at the power supply drawings for both the STX and STL, are they possibly interchangeable. Seems the plugs/wiring are the same as is the output power.
Filters - there are no spacers. You may need to make something if yours rattle around. A small bit of foam or 3d printed plastic may work. Power supply - the DIN connector that goes into the camera is the same wiring for the STX, STXL, and STL. An STXL power supply will run any of them. An STL power supply may not supply sufficient current for anything but an STL.
Thanks Colin. That gets me to wondering about powering our cameras via Pegasus to eliminate dangling wires.
So now that the system has changed somewhat I'm trying to see if I can get designed back focus as near as possible. John tells me I have 9-3/8 to 9-5/8" for back focus measured from the rear cell of the RC. Is there any exterior measurement I can use to see where the CCD chip would be be from front of camera or rear? I'm not going for critical measurement and suspect that a image plate solve should give an accurate focal length and additional information. Anything to make this easier?
Steve, there's the handy backfocus calculator spreadsheet: https://diffractionlimited.com/downloads/BackfocusCalculator.xlsx Select all of the hardware you have, and it will tally it up.
