I am coming up with an issue where windows can find the SBIG, it shows up in the device manager, however often times the CCDOPS software (and seeing monitor which is the software I am interested in running) are not able to detect the camera. I have tried running in various compatibility modes, running as administrator, updating drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, and everything else I can think of. OCCASIONALLY the software will find the camera and I have no idea why, it is not when I have made any deliberate change to the way I am starting the software.

Is there any suggestion for directions to go in order to fix the issue?

    Thanks in advance

This sounds like a hardware/connectivity problem, although it could be driver related.
Let me do a little digging, and see if we can come up with some suggestions.

Thanks Colin, I will also mention that I have 2 systems, and this is happening for both.

The Seeing Monitor contains an ST-402 camera inside. To simplify things, test with the CCDOPS software.

Compatibility mode - don't do that. It will only make things worse. Turn it off.

Running as Administrator - don't do that. It won't help anything.

Uninstalling/reinstalling probably has nothing to do with it, too.

I suspect you're getting random behavior, and by tinkering you're thinking you're doing something when in reality it is all just random.

Make sure the camera is getting good power, and that you have reliable USB connections.

Try a different USB port on the computer. Avoid the connectors on the front of a desktop computer as they are compromised by the internal wiring.
