Is it normal for the STF8300 shutter to hit the end stop when covering the CCD sensor after an exposure? Camera is working normally otherwise. Been a number of months since I last used camera and don't recall if this was normal or not.

    thanks

I was able to troubleshoot and resolve issue by cleaning the power connection at the input to camera, probable power supply regulation problem due to resistance in the connector . Wonder if this was causing the shutter to overshoot its normal open/closed positions. Nice and quiet now .

If you're having connection issues, also check that the two little "tines" of the center pin aren't squashed together. This can happen if the cord is tugged horizontally, and will result in poor contact. You can just pry them apart gently with a fine screwdriver or tweezers.
