I'm new at at this messaging thing, so i hope are someone who can help me? I have one of the first run ST 402 w/ color wheel. Bought it way back when and am now getting back into imaging. I having an issue setting up the camera, getting error message (ERROR: 126-1) driver not installed correctly. No SBIGDrv.dll found). I'm working with and older laptop with Windows 7. I had down loaded the camera soft ware from the original CD-ROM that came with the camera. At first the camera was working correctly and I was testing it out and then it starting not to see an image. Now I cannot get a connection to the camera, note the error message above. I've been to the web site and down loaded the software and driver updates, but now I can connect to the camera anymore. I've uninstalled everything, and reinstalled off the CD-ROM but still no luck. Any suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated.
Is it showing up in the Windows Device Manager correctly? Does the SBIG Driver Checker 4.05 connect to the camera successfully? e.g. Get firmware version from camera will try to talk to it.
Hi Colin, Not showing correctly on WDM, Windows doe not fine the device.........Message I am getting (Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration. (Code 34). SBIG Driver Checker will not connect to camera. Not sure of firmware version, unable to connect to camera, Original manual has version 2.07 on page 11. Seems to looking for this No SBIGDrv.dll found), but I can see it on my computer drive.
Ok, if Windows doesn't see it, then you probably have a hardware problem. Troubleshooting: Check the power supply is working - e.g. is the LED on? Usually they had a red or green LED. Depends how old it was. Some had no LED light. Try changing the USB cable, and the USB port it is plugged into. It's a USB 1.1 camera. You might need to put a USB 2.0 / 1.1 hub between the PC and camera. If Device Manager shows you an /!\ Unknown Device, then the driver is not loading for windows. Unplug the camera. SBIG Driver Checker 4.05 should be able to remove and re-install the driver. It should list sbigudrv.dll 5.1.1.0 Reboot the PC. Then plug in the camera power, then USB. You'll hear the boop-beep of plugging in the USB. Then possibly a disconnect noise. Then it likely will boop-beep again, and the camera should initialize. If you had a mix of old and new drivers and software, you might have to remove those programs, and clear out any sign of the driver checker from C:\Program Files (x86)\SBIG Also, old PCs build up a lot of barnacles. There could be some old sbig drivers left in C:\windows or somewhere underneath like System32.
When power applied to camera Red led is On and cooling fan is running, Tried new cable and USB port, no luck. Rebooted PC, no luck, still getting the same error message. (ERROR: 126-1) driver not installed correctly. No SBIGDrv.dll found). Also, Windows Device Manger giving the same message. Removed all SBIG files, reloaded CCDops again, and down loaded new version of SBIG Driver Checker 4.05. No glory.
What software is saying " (ERROR: 126-1) driver not installed correctly. No SBIGDrv.dll found)" ? A working system usually has: C:\Windows\SBIGDriverChecker64.INI C:\Windows\System\sbigudrv.dll and in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ there are some files like: sbigfcam.hex sbigpcam.hex sbiglcam.hex sbigfga.bin sbigu64.sys sbigucam.hex Worst case: Disconnect camera. Use SBIG Driver Checker to remove the camera drivers Use Control Panel - Add/Remove programs to remove the SBIG driver checker Delete those files listed above. Delete C:\Program Files (x86)\SBIG\Driver Checker 64\SBIG Drivers 3r2 C:\Program Files (x86)\SBIG\Driver Checker 64\ Reboot, do NOT connect the camera. Install SBIG Driver Checker 4.05, and then install the drivers. Then reboot. Then launch SBIG driver checker and it should show: If sbigudrv.dll is not listed, your PC needs to have windows repaired.
What software is saying " (ERROR: 126-1) driver not installed correctly. No SBIGDrv.dll found)" ? Receive message from CCDOps when trying to establish a link to the camera. A working system usually has: C:\Windows\SBIGDriverChecker64.INI C:\Windows\System\sbigudrv.dll and in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ there are some files like: sbigfcam.hex sbigpcam.hex sbiglcam.hex sbigfga.bin sbigu64.sys sbigucam.hex >>Deleted all of this files as instructed<< Worst case: Disconnect camera. Use SBIG Driver Checker to remove the camera drivers Use Control Panel - Add/Remove programs to remove the SBIG driver checker Delete those files listed above. Delete C:\Program Files (x86)\SBIG\Driver Checker 64\SBIG Drivers 3r2 C:\Program Files (x86)\SBIG\Driver Checker 64\ >>Deleted all of this files as instructed<< Reboot, do NOT connect the camera. Install SBIG Driver Checker 4.05, and then install the drivers. >>>Completed<<< Then reboot. Then launch SBIG driver checker and it should show: >>>>Golden, appears just as your screen shot<<<< If sbigudrv.dll is not listed, your PC needs to have windows repaired. >>>Rebooted as instructed, reinstalled CCDOps, still the same error when trying to establish link to camera<<<
Does the SBIG Driver Checker Firmware tab successfully connect to the camera? Go to the Firmware tab. Click "Get Firmware Version from Camera" What does it say? In my example above, you can see it found a camera. Is your CCDOps version 5.66 ? If not, download the correct version: https://cdn.diffractionlimited.com/downloads/InstOps.exe
Hi Colin, It's been a few days getting back to my issues with the ST402. No the SBIG drive checker64 firmware does not connect to the camera. Under the Drivers tab it shows updated files, like, sbigudrv.dll version 5.1.1.0, date 01-26-22. But when I go to the Firmware tab and click on Get Firmware Version from camera, I get (Error. Could not link the SBIGUDRV.DLL) . Please click update on the Drivers Tab and try again. I did update to the new CCDOPS version 5.66 via your link. So still lost in the twilight zone. And now I am also getting an error message when trying to start CCDOps (The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b), click OK to close the application. So now I'm not sure if it is a laptop software issue or camera issue. I'm looking into getting a different LT and see if I can install the CCDOps software and hoping it all works.
Try a different computer. You just need SBIG Driver Checker 4.05, and tell it to [Update] the drivers - then use the firmware tab to check the firmware version. If the hardware has failed, it will give you the error I mentioned. I think the problem you are having is a windows problem. Hi Colin, success, finally got some local IT support. As you advised, uninstalled all SBIG software, and reinstalled latest versions. Cleaned up Windows, it was part of the issues as well. And all is well now. Was able to take images again last night. Thank you so much for your support and advise on getting my problems resolved. Fall is coming and clearer skies here in NC. Happy night are here again,
