    Hello
i bougth an used ST-7XME and for 2 year it done the job.
But the problem arise some day ago, with a new 0.33 meade reducer on my C8.

seems ther is something cast a shadow on the main CCD.
The uneven illumination can't be removed with a flat.
I take a photo of the ccd with shutter opened and see a plastic sheet beetwen the two
CCD the main and the guider one.
Can this sheet be the cause of the shadowing? can be removed?
i attach a flat made with C8 at 750 mm of focal (F/3.7 calculated wit a plate solver).

    tank you very much

I believe the thing you call a plastic sheet is actually the light shield, which has the pick off mirror attached to it. You don't want to remove that, it's positioning is what makes the two ccd's par focal.

i think the guiding ccd is illuminated directly, withouth a bouncing mirror.
i attached a shot off the ccd window with open shutter.

The area below the red lines is a view of the guiding ccd seen in the pickoff mirror.
