Resolved ST10 failure to start

    Dear sir,
    So far I have controlled my ST 10 with Maximdl4 on a old laptop running windows7.
    I have purshased a new laptop and windows 10, on it I have installed Maxim dl4 and downloaded the most recent drivers with driver checker.
    The camera failed to start and no fan moved. I supposed that Maxim 4 was obsolete so I upgraded to
    Maxim LT 6 and downloaded the latest drivers too.
    Nothing at all improved and the cam remained silent .
    It started again correctly with the old laptop and continued to work when I connected again te Windows 10 laptop without stopping the cam.
    After disconnection , the cam didn't start again on Windows10 .
    For my old laptop is not eternal , I would like to solve that issue and use Maxim6 on Windows 10 , as easily as I did with the old system.

    That has nothing to do with MaxIm DL. It is either a hardware or driver issue.

    I trust this is a USB camera, not a parallel port camera? Parallel ports are not supported on anything newer than Windows XP.

    First of all download, install, and run the latest version of the SBIG Driver Checker: ftp://ftp.sbig.com/pub/SetupDriverChecker64.exe

    When you plug in the camera, it automatically downloads firmware from the computer, and then restarts. That's when the fan starts up.

    Check the Windows Device Manager. Is the camera appearing when you plug it in? What does it show?

    My cam is a USB one
    I actually have downloaded the driverchecker ftp://ftp.sbig.com/pub/SetupDriverChecker64.exe from the beginning .
    It works on windows 7 but fails to works on Windows 10 in spite of doing all what you tell, and this is the issue .
    What could be the reason?
    Is there any uncompatibilty between ST10 and windows 10 , and is there any patch that could repair it ?

    It should work just fine.

    Does it appear in the Device Manager, and what does it say?

    It says ST10 pro without firmware .. Both on MAXIM4 and 6 .

    Again, MaxIm DL has absolutely nothing to do with this. This is a driver issue.

    The problem is that the computer is failing to download the firmware into the camera for some reason.

    I may have to ask one of our team to remote into your system to have a look. Can you set up Teamviewer tomorrow?

    Hi, Doug

    After I red your mail , Ihave renitialized my computer , and download all what is necessery .

    It doen't workanymore .

    The only difference is that it register ST10 classic camera without firmware

    I tried an other downloading of the best drivers , and that time it works fine .
