The USB port on my STF 8300 is getting a little wonky, though still usable. Can it be upgraded to a USB 3.0 type connector?

    Describe "wonky".
Do you mean the camera is disconnecting?
Have you secured your USB 2.0 cable somehow - eg to the "handles" on the camera with a zip-tie?

    No.
If it is unreliable, you could try replacing the USB cable first, and then if that doesn't help, @Bill could repair/replace the connector.

Yes, the camera has disconnected. I always tape the cable to the handles on the camera. The cable is not the problem. I sent a ZWO294 back to China for repair. It had a USB 2.0 and came back with a USB 3.0. Its probably not bad enough to require repair yet.

Anyway, drop Bill (at) sbig (dot) com an email, and he can replace the connector with another USB 2.0 connector.

That just weird that they would put in a USB3.0 connector. Probably replaced more than the connector.
