Reading another thread - it appears that the Chamber window - color variant has IR Block. Between an STF-8300C and STF-8300M - is it only the CCD chip and chamber window that are physically different hardware, and then the firmware set for either mono or color?
Yes, the only physical differences are the sensor and the window. The firmware is the same, but there is an EEPROM setting, programmed at the factory, that tells the firmware whether it is a color or monochrome sensor.
