I have an STi that I have been using for years. after replacing the computer with a Win 10 the STi will not form a star image. I get only a vertical streak that starts where the star is located and goes down getting slightly fainter as it goes to the bottom of the image. Racking focus in and our slightly makes the streak wider with the narrowest streak is at the focus point. I have uploaded an image of the result.

    What should I do?

    Thanks, Larry Owings

    Hi Larry,
I had a fast look at the image.

    A few quick questions:
Did you download and install the latest SBIG Driver Checker ?
    ftp://ftp.sbig.com/pub/SetupDriverChecker64.exe

Did you copy over your MaxIm Settings folder from the old PC, or install fresh?
Is autodark on/did you take a dark?

Out of curiousity - What's the optical setup?
eg STi stuffed into an FSQ106 mounted on top of your CDK17 ?
Or some kind of pick-off mirror assembly?

What's the ST-I plugged into? directly into a USB 2.0 port on the PC ?

Have you tried connecting the ST-I directly to the PC with a short, known good USB 2.0 cable, no hubs, no extenders, avoiding any funky USB-C adapters...?

Hmm... I think that ST-I has failed. That looks like a sensor clocking problem.

You should contact @Bill at SBIG Service and Repair.
