Some questions about an STL-11000m :

The SBIG drivers are up to date as is the Windows 10 system.
When trying to update firmware via the DriverUpdate utility it finds the camera but says "camera detected does not have firmware". Does the firmware get loaded by the driver at startup?

Using CCDOps I wanted to check the USB offset value. When run, CCDOps attaches to the camera and the program runs for a short time after clicking the start menu button a message popup says Bad Parameter. A small image window was opened but the pixels were all zero. Is this a bad thing?

The STL-11000m appears to be working okay (for a 10+ year old camera). A raw image taken at -1C :

The darkest pixels are at 720. Is this a tad high?

    Thanks for any insight...

This vintage of camera loads the firmware via the USB interface at startup.

That background level is completely normal. You don't want it to be too low because "cold" pixels could be clipped at zero, which will make it impossible for dark frames to correct them.
