I have used the DriverChecker software successfully on my Windows 10 computer to get an SBIG STL11000cm up and running. However, the observatory I work at has Windows 7 pro, and while the DriverChecker runs and reports success, the camera still doesn't work. I am able to connect to it, and to set the temperature regulation. But when I try to take a picture I get the error message Bad Parameter, 30006
Looking at the two systems in DriverChecker, what I see is that the Windows 10 computer is using sbigpcam.hex, while the Windows 7 computer is using sbigucam.hex
I have tried copying the file over from one to the other, but it does not seem to take. In every other respect the configurations are identical.
    Any ideas you can offer?
    Thanks, Steve Duffy

Have you tried it with the CCDops program?

Thanks for the suggestion. I had not tried that as I didn't need it on Win10. But I just tried it now on Win7, and the camera will take a grab with CCDOps. Still does not work with our imaging software. So what is that telling me?

    Regards, Steve

What imaging software are you using?

Suspect it's a Software Bisque product from the length of the error number. Suggest asking them would be a good next step, if it's theirs.

Ok, thanks. Make sure you have the latest daily build of TSX. I think they are up to 10.5.0 12503.
Then go ask them if that doesnt help.

It doesn't seem like a SkyX problem because both computers are running the exact same version of SkyX. One thing I did do that was probably a mistake was I connected the camera to the computer before I installed the drivers. I've since removed and reinstalled the drivers multiple times to no avail.

Is there any way to force the DriverChecker to use sbigpcam.hex instead of sbigucam.hex?

If it works with CCDOps, it's not a camera problem.

Agree, the camera works. What didn't work correctly was the DriverChecker Installation.

I don't think so. If the drivers were not installed correctly, you wouldn't be able to connect to the camera at all. You are able to connect, ergo the drivers are installed and working.

    I'd make sure you're up-to-date on TheSkyX.

You can also copy your SkyX settings from the working Pc to the non-working one; and tweak as appropriate.
They usually live under somewhere like:
    C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Software Bisque\TheSkyX Professional Edition

Success! copying my imaging system profile out of the working computer caused the Windows 7 computer to respond. There are apparently things hidden in that file that are not visible to Notepad.

Thanks so much for the suggestion.
