I have this remote guide head, but not used it because I have internal guiding of the STT self guiding filter wheel. Asking just FYI.... If use this remote guide head with the STT or STXL cameras, will the ST-I/RGH Guiding Kit be needed? Is this kit's focal length suitable for guiding when imaging at 2000mm? The (highly sensitive) pixels are 7.4 microns which is pretty large. If the STI/RGH kit is not a suitable focal length, then what should an imager do to use this remote guide head? Thank you for your comments! Roger
You can guide at 10:1 or even 20:1 less resolution because the centroids are calculated to a fraction of a pixel. So yes it will work at 2000 mm. Of course the RGH can be used with a guide scope. It doesn’t need to have a long focal length. 500 mm is ample.
