For practical reasons I needed to extend the length of the power supply cord to my STT8300. When I did, I also needed to swap to an alternative power supply on which I could raise the voltage to 14 volts to accommodate the new length. For approximately one half of the length of the power cable, I simply have two-stranded insulated cable, much like that one would use for a loudspeaker. This section of the power cable is obviously not shielded. My questions are: Is there any negative in using this two-stranded, unshielded cable for around half the length of the power cable? If it led to interference with the camera, what would be the signs of this in an image taken? Greg
I think it unlikely that you would have noise problems; however, any interference would show up as patterns that would be most visible in your bias frame.
