    Hi.
I have the FW7 STX FW that goes with the camera. I suspect the FW is too thick and I am aware of the newer models, however my question is whether the STX 16803 can be used with a commercial lens, Canon in my case.

    thanks
    Martin

    That's not going to work.
    Backfocus calculation:
    STX camera 35.3mm
AFW-10-50SQ filter wheel 14.0mm (This is the thinnest wheel). FW7 is 32.9mm.
Backfocus required = 49.2mm with the AFW, and 68.1mm with the FW7-STX.

Canon EOS lens flange focal distance = 44mm
It will never come to focus.
You could stick the Canon lens directly on the camera body if you can get an adapter machined.

A better option would be to use a lens that will fully illuminate the chip.
My best guess would be a Pentax 6x7 lens (85mm), Hasselblad V series (74.9) or possible a Pentax 645mm lens (70.7mm).
