The shutter of our camera fails. The filter weel works properly, but the shutter stays in intermediate positions.

We have opened the camera and the displacements seem to be the same, but never 180º for open or closed sensor.

Our obsevatory is in Spain. Do you think it can be repaired easily from here? May it be some dust in the position sensor? The camera has been stop for a few months due to a fail in the observatory.

All the drivers and firmware are updated. We have tested it with the CCDOPS and Maxim DL 6.18 software and the error is the same.

If the shutter is not working correctly, it is most likely a result of the shutter sensor. These are hall effect sensors and should be unaffected by dust. The most likely cause is a component failure. The unit will need to be sent in for service. Please contact Bill Lynch for service and repairs and arrange the return:
