Hi sorry for my english, l am from quebec. I just get my new STXL 11002 ccd camera After less than 10 - 15 minutes of use, a smell of fire and smoke appeared and the camera as shutdown by itself. The cooling was set to -20 and the fans was in operation mode. Just before l have take some test picture ... l reopen it 10 minutes after and start a new test, this time a lot of noisy pixel appear ... (hope the chip is not brooken) When l start the cooling function, the temperature is going down but never under 8c ... and when it reach the 8c, and 100% cooler power the temperature increase .. until the smoke and smell of fire return back ... You will see in the upload file a 5 seconds with a LOT of hot pixel ... and the print screen with the cooling information .. Sound like a bran new defect STXL11002 ! Can you help me ?
The sbig-2 file is a dark .... the cap still on the camera. I just take some other picture in a DARK environment with the camera, the cap still on the camera and all dark look like the sbig-2 file. So a think the chip is affected. I will wait from sbig team ...
this is realy a defect in the cooling system. if i not use it (only the fan) all seems to be fine. this is a picture i have take later with only the fan. 10x60 sec RGB
