I am testing the filter wheel. I installed CCDOPS and connected the camera. The camera appears connected. I am getting a timeout error when I try to calibrate the filter wheel.

What are the serial numbers for the camera and filter wheel.

    Check the cable.

I hope you didn’t hot plug it. Per the manual that can damage the port, possibly requiring service to replace blown fuses.

I think its software, but still trying. Camera SN is 83F010797, filter wheel is 1211. The only thing I hot plugged was the USB cable into the computer. I hear the camera clicking. I think i need to setup the filters.

Okay glad it was something simple.

You can safely hot plug the USB cable. Don't do that with the DC power or I2C!

Someone from our ordering department should be in touch Monday.

If not DC power, how do you turn it on and off?

Do it from the AC side.

The reason I recommend against plugging the DC cable in "hot" is that, if you're really clumsy and/or not paying attention, you can try to put the connector in at a 45 degree angle. That makes it possible for the inner 12V contact to short to the camera's shell, which will be grounded through the PC's USB port. As a minimum you'll get sparks, and if you're super unlucky it can blow the computer's USB port, or in rare cases damage the camera's USB port.

I still could use some help in getting this setup with CDDOpss....the FW is not moving again, although I am pretty sure its settings. Any chance of getting some live phone support at some point?

A Teamviewer session would be better. @Adam Robichaud can probably help you with this.

A phone call would be good. How about tomorrow morning after 9 AM? 805-801-4607.

The wheel rotates, but I cannot select a filter, still get timeout errors.

Can you please give me his full email or phone number?

What I need is instructions or a manual for CCDOpss. It looks like you can fully control the camera and filter wheel with that, although my intention is to use SGP.
