I'm running an older ST8300m with 8 position SBIG filter wheel, OAG and an STi camera for guiding. Driving the hardware is a XP laptop running The Sky 10, Phd2, and the SBIG driver, to a USB port, one powered USB hub, and one unpowered USB hub. The laptop is also driving an iOptron CEM60. This configuration has worked fine for a number of years. Recently, while imaging, both the cameras have been disconnecting with the error message "SBIG transmission timeout. Error 3007". I cannot reconnect until I have depowered the cameras and rebooted the computer. The same condition has occurred on two different laptops. I have made no changes to the wiring between the laptop and the cameras. Help in understanding this problem is greatly appreciated. Scott Dixon
Scott, likely a few more details will be needed - like what software are you using to grab the images and version? e.g. TheSkyX 10.3.0 9334 with Camera Add On, MaxIm DL Pro 6.13, PHD2 2.61, etc. What changed in your environment? Did you install new software/drivers/windows update? Did you install the latest SBIG driver utility from the web site and update drivers/firmware? What's the configuration of the hardware? How powered? e.g. Laptop USB port 1 - Powered Hub - STi LAptop USB port 2 - unpowered hub - ioptron and ST8300m Any extender cables? Using the original power pack for the 8300? Have you tried running it "on the workbench" with the laptop connected directly to the ST8300 with a short cable and no hub?
