Is there a cooling limit set on the STX16803? Mine will not cool be low exactly -35.0C with the though the cooler power is at 38% with current ambient temp of -1.3C.

    Thanks,

Yes, there is a minimum temperature for the STX, for several reasons:

At -35C the KAF-16803 has a dark current rate of just 0.004 e-/pixel/second. That means 1 electron in 5 minutes.

At lower temperatures residual bulk image gets worse.

The desiccant is able to achieve very low humidity, but not zero. If you get the sensor cold enough, you may start to get some frost accumulation.

Thanks, Doug. Seems I read that somewhere, but couldn't find it in the forums.

    Clear skies.
