My new STXL 11002 takes a dark successfully with the main pixel array, but the guide chip takes an image where all the pixel values appear to be zero. This is the first time it has been used and I'm simply following the instructions from p22 of the operating manual. Any hints?

Is it the guider in the filter wheel? Was the External Guider selected?

Sounds like the answer! Haven't yet connected the guiding filter wheel because we still have an older filter wheel mounted on the telescope.
I guess other models had the guiding CCD inside but not anymore, and the line saying to take an image might be modified. Surprising that an empty image is returned. Thanks!
