I've been smoothly running my ST8xme with CCDSoft v186 for years now until I tried an ST4000xcm on the same setup. The ST4000xcm worked perfectly right from the start. But then I put my trusty ST8xme back on and CCDSoft5 won't detect it any more. So I downloaded and updated the drivers and no luck. I removed and reinstalled CCDSoft and no luck again. It's setup to run with a USB connection. The camera is working properly in Device Manager but won't connect in Maxim DL, CCDops or CCDSoft. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Bob
Take a look at this thread (and similar ones that follow). http://www.diffractionlimited.com/f...g-camera-after-driver-update.2836/#post-15138
Problem solved! With the help from Tim Puckett, it was decided that CCDSoft was corrupted by the other camera so I did a full system restore for my Win7 x64 and the problem was gone.(Restore to an earlier point didn't work) This site is great for getting help! Moral of the story: always back up you full system to another hard drive and store the drive in a very safe place. Happy Holidays, Bob
Thank you Colin. I do believe that CCDSoft got so corrupted that even reinstall didn't fix the problem. Bob
