Dear team I am writing from Italy
My STF8300 cannot be find in maxim DL !
After this trial MAXIM DL is frozen and it is impossible to close. Also with windows activity manager i can not stop software. And this is not all, i cannot shut down PC that have no problem with any other software). I can only make an hard reset with power butto for several seconds
I try also with CCDOps with same result.
If i do not connect camera i can stop software regulary
In the windows device manager i can see SBIG USB device find.
    I try to:
    • Several times to delete drivers and the re install latest installed: no change
    • I try to re install firmware but camera is not detected.
    • Several times re-install Maxim DL. No change
    • disconnect filter wheel
    • change several USB cable and ports of PC (3 in total)
    • use a USBC hub to USB port :No changes.
When i power the camera i hear usual sound of shutter and wheel homing, so i assume that camera is running.
    i
PC is a DELL precision with Win10 pro , Icore 7 ,32 GB ram. i using for work every day without issue
Please help me to find a fast solution.

Hi Colin nice to here an answer.
When i say that I try to reinstall drivers with SBIG Driver I do with SBIG Driver Checker, last updade (see include image 203626.png).
If i try to update firmware also this it freezes permanently (IMG6030.jpg) up to computer hard reset.
as I say i try to update, remove, reinstall, always with the same result : is that i try to connect camera (STF8300) to MAXIM program are frozen and cannot be shut down.
in the resurce manager I can see camera with appropriate driver (see pictures ..205015.png & ..205059.png).
Also I include a screenshot of Windows activity manager after MAXIM start tryin to connect with camera (..205528.png & IMG_6029.JPG).
Please hel me to restore camera working.
for your information in 2019 camera was sent to Bill Lich for repair on the A/D converter.. (350$+shipping+customs..) and now camera is again fault!?!?
    Thanks and sorry my english.
    Ciao

Is SBIG Driver Checker version 4.05 ?
    Is sbigudrv.all version 5.1.1.0 ?
On the firmware tab, Get Firmware version from camera.
    What does it report?
PrtSc to get a screen shot.

Either the hardware has failed, or the device drivers are improperly installed.

    1. Power off and Disconnect the USB from the camera.
    2. Launch SBIG Driver Checker
    3. [Remove] to uninstall the drivers.
    4. [Done]
    5. Launch the Device Manager
    6. View... Show Hidden Devices
    7. Look for any SBIG cameras. They will be listed under SBIG USB Devices, or under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Like this:
    sbig_devices.png
    8. Right-click ... Uninstall Device
    9. Repeat for all SBIG devices.
    10. Look for and remove any /!\ Unknown Device like this:
    unknownusb.png
    11. Restart the computer
    12. Run SBIG Device Checker. Update the drivers.
    13. Plug in the camera.
    14. It should show up correctly in the Device Manager.
    15. If it does, then Firmware, Get firmware from camera - it should connect ok and report the firmware.
    16. If it fails, try replacing the cable. If it still doesn't work, then it needs to be repaired.
    17. To send it in for repair, fill in this form: https://diffractionlimited.com/request-rma/

    Dear Colin,
today I find a PC (It is a DELL Precision M4800) with Windows 7 Pro and i try using SBIG device Checker.. It works!
I can get camera Firmware as in the picture .
I try to update Firmware and it run for several minutes and result in Firmware update ok (see picture)
But after getting Firmware is not updated.
I don't know whi , but I think that is not a big problem.
So i load also CCDOP and camera works, i can get images!
So camera hardware is working !! the problem is in the PC driver.
But in the other hands, I follow your last (09/28/2024) instruction to remove drivers but alway with the same result, camera connection remain frozen
I do several times, switching off PC, disabling antivirus (Avast)
Du you thik that revome MaximDL, CCDops i can solve ??
I will try to do all possible to solve problem.
In any case i thank you very much for your patient!

After you update the firmware, you have to disconnect and power off the camera. Did you do that?
Were you having a problem with 2.63? Why do you want to update to 2.64?
