I have and STXL-6303 which was working fine until a few days ago and now the readout from the imaging chip is zero - nio noice, nothing. I think it needs assessment and probably a new imaging chip. I also have an STXL-11K which was purchased 10 years ago and never used until the above camera failed. It has a persistent 30017 shutter error. Can I send it back for servicing? Many thanks for your help Joe Brimacombe
Joe, Please note that STXL is obsolete and on extended support: https://forum.diffractionlimited.com/threads/support-for-discontinued-products.9269/ ON Semiconductor discontinued all of the KAF and KAI image sensors six years ago. So hopefully the problem is not sensor related! Usually CCD sensors don't fail unless the chamber was soaking wet and it corroded. There are plenty of other issues that can cause a blank image. We do have some fresh circuit cards and most of the electronics components aren't obsolete yet, so we can repair most things other than sensors. The shutter problem is very likely repairable. First thing to check - make sure you don't have overly long screws in the front of the unit. They could block the shutter from rotating. Please fill in this RMA form: http://diffractionlimited.com/request-rma
Hi Doug I was able to fix the STXL11K, but filled out an RMA form for the STXL6303 about 10 days ago and have heard nothing back. Is it ok to send the camera to you, if so what address should I send it to. Many thanks Joe
