I have been trying for a couple of days to download the SBIG Driver checker and CCDOPs for Mac.
The links do not work - is this a temporary glitch or are they no longer available?

    ftp://ftp.sbig.com/pub/SBIGDriverInstallerUniv.dmg
    ftp://ftp.sbig.com/pub/CCDOpsLiteUniv.dmg

    Thanks,
    Silas

I just tried both of them and they download for me.
    Perhaps try a different browser.
Note also that these are 32-bit programs.

Thanks it was a browser issue. They downloaded with Chrome.

I just ran the installer for the SBIGDriverInstaller - it seems to go ok, but I cannot now find the installed program...
CCDOPs seems to be working though.

if CCDOPs is working, that's because the driver installed the device drivers in the operating system properly.

Sorry I was not clear. It works as in I can open the demo images. I cannot connect to the camera.

    Which MacOS are you running?
I think my colleague @Adam Robichaud may need to chime in here.

I am wondering if my laptop's lack of USB ports is also a problem. I have only USB-C and use a dongle to connect to everything.

Connecting to Legacy SBIG cameras (notably those pre-STX[L]/STT/STF/ST-i) require the use of a signed KEXT which we no longer support—it came bundled with the SBIG OSX drivers. Some people have had success enabling unsigned KEXT use on older installs of OSX. If you're so inclined, I believe there are some older threads explaining how to do that (I'm away from my PC at the moment, otherwise I'd dig them up myself).

Am I likely to have an easier time of it in Windows? Our observatory machine is a windows 10 PC, with actual USB ports.
The whole community appreciates your efforts to continue supporting these older cameras!

Windows 10 has support for the gamut of SBIGUDrv compatible cameras.
