Hello, Just to ask if anyone knows the average current consumption for this combo? I'll be using a 12V 120AH battery to supply power to it next year in a remote location with solar panel charging.

    thanks
    Paul

Paul, it's very dependent on the cooling. eg the camera can easily draw 3.5 amps when at full cooler power, fan running, and then when the filter wheel moves, perhaps another 0.5A or so.
I run a solar powered observatory, and 5 x 110Ah Deep Cycle batteries for solar. If I get several days of cloud, everything shuts down.
    A single 120Ah battery won't be enough.
Keep in mind you have to de-rate the batteries about 50%, and cold temperatures makes it worse.
So you've got maybe 1 nights worth of power just for that camera.

Thanks very much for replies Colin and Doug. Yes I agree about the batteries. I'm thinking of a bank of them too as there's lots of other kit to run. We get a fair bit of wind here in Wales, so I'll use some of that to supplement charging.
