    Simon,
See my earlier post about downloading the latest SBIG Driver Checker, and the latest CCDOPS version.
Download, install, and update. It is the latest version of both, and it is FREE.
Then report back if there is still an issue, or if it is resolved.

That version of MaxIm is literally 10 years old. You might want to upgrade that as well.
Here's what you've missed in MaxIm over the years:
    https://diffractionlimited.com/help/maximdl/What_s_New_.htm
    http://www.diffractionlimited.com/help/maximdl/Release_Notes.htm
If you go to the upgrade page, I think there may be a discount available to update to the latest version of MaxIm.

Ok, something is wrong in hardware.
I have the same camera here, and it works fine on my end.

As a next step, I suggest you contact @Bill for hardware service. Bill (at) SBIG (dot) com

It could be that you have a problem with the filter wheel motor, the drive belt, or the position sensor.
If you are good with hardware, you could unplug the camera from the USB and power.
Next, you could remove the camera lid (carefully!) and check that everything is okay under the lid.
It might just be better to send it in to Bill.

    Bill, Doug,

Having changed the COM port on the Filter Wheel setup to something else besides COM1, I find that I'm not having any trouble with this issue anymore. I don't know if doing what I did actually had some effect (it shouldn't have). You can mark my issue with this as resolved.

Sorry for my late response. I haven't got around to it at all. but it still does not work, I also have the problem that the Tec cooling no longer works. it registers tempreature but does not start cooling.

    Simon, it's been a year.
I'm pretty sure you need to send it to @Bill for repair, especially if the cooling has also failed.
