Installed Ron's software for our SBIG Model: Seeing Monitor, seeing monitor. Got the error message in the title. Loaded the driver checker and it verified it wasn't installed. I had the checker download the latest (and I assume it put them in the proper places). When I go to run Seeing Monitor, when it begins to connect to the camera, I keep getting the same error.

    Nope. It's in there, version 10.0.40219, 6/27/2023.

Does SBIG Driver Checker - Firmware tab - Get Firmware version from camera tell you anything? (Be specific).
    What OS are you running?

Currently installed firmware field is blank. Status field says Error: Could not link the SBIGUDRV.DLL. Please click Update on the Drivers Tab and try again. Which I just did and I get the same thing. Come to think of it, I don't recall getting an Install New Hardware wizard when I first plugged in the camera.

Worked my way down the list and did everything that applied. Took a few cycles of optional (non-driver) updates and did the power management thread as well. I still get the same results on software start and firmware tab of the checker.

I'm going to suggest copying the SBIGUDrv.dll file into the Seeing Monitor program folder. It's an UGLY solution, but it might get you going.

If that doesn't work, then I'm afraid we aren't going to be able to help further. This software is no longer supported.

Mike, I previsouly asked, what OS are you running on?

Does an SBIG camera show up correctly in the Device Manager?

It shows up as "SBIG USB Devices" with a subdirectory of "SBIG USB Camera With Firmware".

Is the Education version managed by your school/school board/IT department?
If so, they may have locked it down to prevent installation of device drivers and low level stuff on the machine.

Turns out we have (and have had) Admin privileges on the machine for this.

Resolved. Had to downgrade SBIGUDrv.dll version 5.1.1.0 that the checker downloaded to version 4.9.9.7 we pulled from an older machine.
