    hello,

i have a problem since few months now with my setup :

STL11k, STI guider, CCDsoft, CCDA4, and dell computer with 7pro.

i have a random timeout error when the downloading of image start.

this error is (in ccda4) :

    00:27:48 I:TI1, CCDSoft.App: Transmission timeout.

    Error code = 1007 (0x3ef).

    in focusmax v3.6 :

    CCDSoft.App Error -2147219497: Transmission timeout.

    Error code = 1007 (0x3ef).
    Module modComponents sub ExposeSubFrame

always the same error, but randomly.

i must stop the power of the camera, power on again, and it work.

i have sent the camera to sbig for a check, and after severals tests, the camera is ok, no problem!...

    i'm despite.

i have tried, with usb powered hub, no hub, change usb cable, updated all softwares and drivers, NO sucess.

i have also tried with maxim dl 5 , same issue.

i'll try to change the computer ( with same software), no success.

i think my problem was start when i install the STI , and need to update sbig driver, but i'm not sure.

may be a software issue, or a usb hardware problem with W7, regarding i have explored the hardware.

next, i will try the SKY X with CCDA4 to see.

    SBIG Driver issue? CCDA issue?

    help will be really appreciate.

    thank you in advance

    regards

    michael

Can you send a screenshot of the Drivers, and Firmware tab on the SBIGDriverChecker64 window?

The Firmware tab screenshot you sent shows the ST-i. Is the STL11000 connected? What firmware version is it using?

Have you been able to determine if it is the STL-11000 or the ST-i that is generating the timeout error, or does it only occur when both are connected? You may need to test them with only one plugged in at a time to determine which one.

it is a remote observatory in spain, so it is impossible to plug/unplug.
yes in the previous screen shot, the stl 11 k is not powered.
a strange thing when i power up the stl11k, i can not see the camera firmware , i have this screen shoot with error :
    upload_2016-7-7_17-3-15.jpeg

the error occurs during automatic session with guiding , then the cameras is connected.
i can say exactly if it is the sti or stl, but it seems the stl, because after the errors, sometime the guiding don't stop.

I have an STL-11000M and that is normal - the firmware cannot be flash updated, and the version does not show in the driver checker.

    thank you for your reply,
i suspect a bad installation of the driver of the cameras , until i install the sti.
    i run usbDeview software :
    upload_2016-7-21_12-17-48.png

i can see the stl11k when it power on as "usb-cam engine2 sbig usb camera with firmware", but i can see also a previous name (not connected) "sbig STL camera without firware".
is it possible when all cameras are connect, the stl11k is not recognize correctly?

is there someone who run sti and stl11k simultaneously?

    thank you in advance.
    regards

I just tried to use my STL-11000M and ST-I together, in MaxIm DL 6.13. I have the same firmware in the ST-i, and same drivers.
    MaxIm is hanging.
To reproduce: Set up Camera 1 as SBIG Universal, select STL-11000M. Camera 2 as SBIG Universal, select ST-I.
Also set up the filter wheel for the STL-11000M.
    Hit Connect.
You will hear the shutter in the ST-I click.
TDI tab is added on the Camera control window.
Now go to the expose tab. Oddly, it says No Camera.
    Camera 1 is selected.
It will then hang. Camera Control (Not Responding) - it never comes back.
So, next, I tried reconfiguring - Under Options, Advance, turn off Access camera through separate thread.
And then when I got over the to the expose tab, select Camera 2.
Take a 3 second Light. It worked.
Then I select Camera 1, it hangs. Hit the [X] on the camera control dialog, windows gives options to close the program, so I did.
Trying again, I got Camera 1 to expose, first moving the filter wheel, then 3 seconds, a delay with not responding (normal), and then the image came through.
What it comes down to for me is if Access camera from a separate thread is turned on, it will hang MaxIm.
I'm wondering if there is a driver issue here or a MaxIm bug. Not sure if this is related to Micv issues.
I don't have the other software he has to verify his setup.
I should add each camera connected directly to my Asus laptop, no hubs or extenders, and running Win 10 64bit.

very interesting colin, i'm not alone! thank you for the tests!
i think it is a problem when you use the sti and stl11k together, certainly the drivers.
i will try with only stl (with internal guiding), with sti disconected , and see if the error come.
it is a remote observatory in spain, i must ask to people in place to go to remove sti usb...it can take time.
    i let you know.
i hope sbig and diffraction find something about this issue. this one annoying me for a long time. it became a nightmare.
    regards

    hello,
i have tried with the skyX , CCDA 5, focusmax V4, all software up to date, (to avoid ccdsoft, which is not supported), and same issue/error.
sti and stl11k not work together.

    hello,
i confirm it is a problem with sti and stl11k use in the same time : last night, i have disconnect the usb of the sti, and run a session with internal guider of stl11k , with success all the night, no error.
i 'll try again 2/3 night to confirm.
    driver issue probably.
    thanks to investigate.
    regards

i'm despite, i can not use my remote observatory, and i pay fees for it...
anyone can help me to find a solution?
i don't know if it is the driver, or software bug (ccdsoft), but i exclude hardware failure in the setup during all this test.
or usb conflict in this computer...
    help please.
    regards

could it be a power supply issue of the stl11k?
it is the only things i have not changed.
can a bad PS cause timeout issue?
    thank you
