Here's a fast way to set up your SBIG camera.

Which one do you have? Go to the section below (1) or (2).
(1). SBIG CMOS, SBIG Aluma CCD cameras and StarChaser SC models
This applies to Aluma CCD, Aluma AC, STC, StarChaser SC models
These cameras use the newer DL Imaging drivers. (Diffraction Limited)

    a) Windows Device Driver
Windows can automatically install the Device Driver for this camera.
Plug in the USB and power to the camera.
Windows should automatically recognize it and download the driver.
If it doesn't here's the easy steps:
    Run Windows Update
    1) Click [Check for updates]
    2) View optional updates
    Like this:

    3) Click v Driver Updates
    4) Check the box labeled FTDI or SBIG
    5) Click [Download and Install]

    6) Next, install the DL Imaging Drivers. Get them here:
    https://diffractionlimited.com/down/SetupDLAPI.exe
This includes the DL Config Utility that you can use to check the camera is working and to update firmware if needed.

    7) If you need the ASCOM driver, get it here:
    https://diffractionlimited.com/down/DLImagingASCOMDriverInstaller.exe

    8) MaxIm - Camera Control Window - select DL Imaging
    Advanced
Double click on the camera serial number in the list.

    (2) SBIG classic CCD cameras
    a) Does it have a USB and/or Ethernet connection?
This applies to ST, STL, STXL, STX, STT, STF models with USB or Ethernet connections
These cameras use the older SBIG Universal Drivers.

You need to install the SBIG Driver Checker 64. Download and run it. Then update the drivers.
    Get the driver checker here:
    https://diffractionlimited.com/downloads/SetupDriverChecker64.exe

In MaxIm, select SBIG Universal for the drivers.
If you have an Adaptive Optics unit:
    a) For STX/STXL/STT with attached remote guide head or internal guide sensor, and AO, select SBIG w/AO
    b) For ST/STL with AO-7/AO-L/AO-8, select SBIG w/AO Leg (short for Legacy)

    b) Does it have a parallel port?
If your ST camera has a Parallel Port interface, modern operating systems won't talk to it since Windows XP.
